Old and young alike can find unique items which help make a visit to the zoo more memorable. Everything from African artifacts, T-shirts, and figurines to posters, books and a great selection of animal toys are available. All sales directly benefit the zoo. CAROUSEL The zoo features an enclosed carousel which holds 8 children. The animals on the carousel include sea serpents, unicorn, horse, pig, frog, rabbit, and a fish. The carousel is open from 11:00 - 4:30 everyday in the summer and 11:00 - 4:30 on the weekends during the winter. The carousel was hand-made by the Dentzel family. The carousel is for children only (48 inch height limit), who can ride for $.75. ZOO TRAIN All Aboard - Come take a journey on the Santa Barbara Zoo train! Climb on board one of our two C.P. Huntington narrow gauge trains for our interprative ride that travels through lush foliage along the 1 1/3 mile track. See toco toucans, white-handed gibbons, and birango giraffes. Cross the bridge that spans the Andrea Clark Bird Refuge and go through the tunnel before getting back to the stations. The ride is approximately 10 minutes long, with a train leaving every 10-15 minutes during the summer on the weekends and every 30-60 minutes during the winter weekdays.
