Elephant Walk
Herd up your party in a fun-filled game that's as easy to set up as it is to play and a hit for parents as well as the kids. Mark a start/finish line and a turn-around point (like a tree or chair) approximately 15-20 feet from starting line. Divide children into two teams and have them line up (single file) behind start/finish line.
The first child in each line extends one arm outward as a "trunk" and the other arm back through his/her legs as a "tail." The second child holds the first child's tail with his/her "trunk" and extends his/her arm back through the legs for the third person to hold. Continue to arrange the line until each person has extended his/her "trunk" to hold the "tail" in front of him/her. At the signal, the race begins and the "elephants" walk as a team, from the start line to the finish line. "Elephants" must keep hold of one another's tail throughout the race. The first team to cross the finish line, wins.
