MAKE YOUR OWN MOLDING DOUGH

Combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour and 3/8 cup of salt in a large bowl. Stir so that they are mixed. Then add 3/8 cup of hot water and stir around until all blended well.

Take out the dough and knead on a floured tabletop or countertop for at 5 minutes and as you knead, mix in a few drops of your child's chosen food coloring. Let your child knead the dough now, because the more they knead it, the more pliable and soft it becomes.

Then they can use cookie cutters and play knives to cut and shape their dough. This homemade dough will keep for about a week if you refrigerate it in plastic bags sealed tightly or plastic top containers.

Hint* If the dough gets dry, add a couple drops of water to it. If too sticky, add more flour. Also, before adding the food coloring, you can divide the dough into different lumps and make many different colors of dough. Let your child mold, squish and pound. Fun for hours!!
